Threefold transatlantic, historical and cultural mission of SAR France
Purpose of the Society SAR France
Founded to perpetuate the legacy of the Franco-American alliance forged during the American War of Independence, the Society SAR France pursues the following objectives:
To cherish and preserve the memory of those who, during the American War of Independence, worked to establish the independence of the American people.
To foster cordial relations among their descendants.
To encourage historical research relating to the American War of Independence.
To maintain the bonds of friendship formed between the French and American peoples at the time of the birth of the American nation.
A Threefold Mission
These objectives are carried out through three complementary missions:
Transatlantic: Fostering Franco-American Friendship
- Facilitating cultural or professional stays in the United States
- Exchanging with Americans in France
- Promoting the creation of European chapters
Historical: France Gave Independence to the United States
- Studying this 18th-century world war
- Developing our historical resources
Cultural: We Love to Remember and Showcase Our History
- Through conferences, in Paris and across France
- During trips to America
